Busty Springfield

Busty Springfield has been performing and hosting in drag shows across Norman and Oklahoma City since 2018, using these platforms to raise money for multiple local non-profit organizations (Sisu Youth Services, Free Mom Hugs, Other Options) and to organize drag workshops and story times over the years. Currently, Busty is working on a Star Trek cosplay series that combines their interests in costume construction and queer performance art. Some of their regular cosplay looks include Mary Poppins, the Fairy Godmother (Shrek 2), Mystique (X-Men), Spock (Star Trek TOS), and Kira Nerys (Star Trek DS9). As someone on the autism spectrum, Busty has future aspirations to establish a dialog for how cosplay and drag spaces can better accommodate neurodivergent and differently abled members of both communities.

Cosplay Drag - Where Two Artforms Meet

Drag performers discuss how they integrate cosplay into their drag, and vice versa. They cover topics like: How do you incorporate cosplay into your drag character? How do you choose a cosplay to incorporate into your drag? What distinguishes cosplay drag from other types of cosplay? What tips and tricks can you offer people who want to incorporate drag elements into their cosplay work? Why is it important to have LGBTQ+ representation in the cosplay community, whether through drag or otherwise?
