Robert Daniels

Robert "JR" Daniels is a self-taught artist from Oklahoma City who started as a science-fiction & fantasy art collector. In 1984 he took up airbrush painting under the tutorial of artist and actor David Lee Anderson. Over the following 18 years he participated in more than 500 art shows nationwide. Known for his "painting in an hour" panels, he was also a renowned auctioneer at conventions nationally. JR moved away from the convention life in 2000 to focus on mainstream art and family life. After his retirement he has returned full time to painting. JR has a portfolio that includes book & magazine illustrations for authors such as Jack Vance, Harry Turtledove, Ursula K. Le Guin, Ian Watson, Bruce Sterling, and many more. He has done gaming art for TSR and Margaret Weis. JR is a member of OAAA, CPSA, & IAAA. He is currently based in Point A Gallery, located in the 39th Street District in Oklahoma City.

Separating Art from Artist ... or Author

Fans are bound to encounter beloved stories and art created by individuals whose personal actions or beliefs are disappointing. Is it possible to separate the art from the artist and continue to enjoy these works? While there are no easy answers, we aim to foster reflection and understanding of the complex relationship between creator and creation.
